Our efforts were started by Wallenpaupack Area School  District first, fifth and tenth grade students, following a radio ad for Gustonian Gifts’ collection. We now have many high school students from the Commonwealth involved in our efforts. Many of those students have “never been involved with something like this before”. We never imagined our efforts gaining the support they have, now throughout the nation. Too many times, youth are recognized for the negative things they do, never the positive.

We currently have collection sites throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and also in eight other states including, but not limited to, California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Montana, North Carolina and Massachusetts and more are being added daily.

We have a North Carolina contact that has spoken with BP directly and is scheduled to speak with The White House regarding our efforts. We were told to make a claim with BP regarding the shipping and travel costs for our volunteers. It is not final that we will be receiving any of these funds or how long it would take to receive them. We are looking into a band’s bus that is driven by a family friend to transport the donations to Florida. We would take the youth that started the organizations efforts and their families.
